CVE 2020-12056 – Trio 8800 Improper Control of Generation of Code
An API port allows unauthenticated communication with the device exposing remote code execution capabilities resulting in shell access with elevated privileges. A crafted request to this API allows the attacker to upload files, which can be leveraged to execute the code and results in a remote shell connection with elevated privileges.
Poly released a firmware update to address this vulnerability. There is no workaround.
Poly would like to thank Frank Cozijnsen and Arn Vollebregt from KPN RED team for reporting security vulnerabilities to us and for their coordinated disclosure.
