Samsung Laser, Samsung Inkjet printers - Use the Samsung Mobile Print app (iOS)

Introduction

Learn about how to setup, configure, and use the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS with a Samsung printer.

Download the app and connect the printer with the app

  1. Make sure the printer supports mobile printing with the Samsung Mobile Print app. See the Supported printers section.
  2. Configure the connection.
    • For USB connections, connect the USB cable to the printer, install the printer driver, and then add/share the printer on the PC (this MUST be done before downloading the app).
    • For network connections, connect the network cable and make sure the printer is configured to print via a network connection (print server, shared network, or Wi-Fi), and then print a test page.
  3. Download the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS 7.0 or newer.
  4. Add the printer to the printer list.
    USB connections
    1. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    2. Select the Add device manually option.
    3. Select SMB as the connection type, type the printer IP address, and then type the user account.
    4. Make sure the USB cable is connected and then tap Search to find and add the printer.
    5. Print a test page (Print > Document).
    Network connections
    1. If using a network connection, make sure the printer and the phone are connected to the same network (same router).
    2. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    3. Tap Select Device, or to change an existing printer selection, tap the Add icon.
    4. Select RAW as the connection type, type the printer IP address, and then keep the default 9100 Port number selection.
    5. Tap Search to find and add the printer.

Print, Scan, or Fax using the Samsung Mobile Print app (iOS)

Follow the steps below to print, scan, or fax using the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS.

Print using the Samsung Mobile Print app (iOS)

To print using the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS, follow these steps.
  1. Make sure phone and printer are connected to the same network.
  2. Tap the Print icon.
  3. If no device is selected, tap Select Device, and then select the printer from the device list.
  4. Select any option such as Gallery or Documents.
  5. To print a photo, select the Photo Library, and then select the picture.
  6. To preview the image, tap Preview.
  7. To edit an image or change settings, use the icons in the top of the Preview window or tap Settings.
  8. Tap Print.

Scan using the Samsung Mobile Print app (iOS)

To scan using the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS, follow these steps.
note:
Scanning using the Samsung Mobile Print app is only supported on network-connected printers.
  1. Make sure phone and printer are connected to the same network.
  2. Open the Samsung Mobile print app and navigate to the Scan tab.
  3. If no device is selected, tap Select Device, and then select the printer from the device list.
  4. Open the Scan page.
  5. Place the paper(s) to scan on the flatbed/ADF.
  6. To preview the image, tap Preview.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. When Do you want to continue scan? displays, tap Yes and then tap Scan.
  9. After the scan completes, tap Yes to scan another page or perform another action with the scanned page, or tap No to quit scanning.
  10. On the Scan page, tap Send to open more options.
  11. Choose one of the following options:
    • Mobile Print (Print)
    • Mobile Print (Fax)
    • Photo Album
    • Send by E-Mail
    • Open In

Fax using the Samsung Mobile Print app (iOS)

To fax using the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS, follow these steps.
note:
Faxing using the Samsung Mobile Print app is only supported on network-connected printers.
  1. Make sure the phone and printer are connected to the same network.
  2. Open the Samsung Mobile print app and navigate to the Fax tab.
  3. Tap the fax source such as Documents.
  4. Select a document from the Scanned list.
  5. Open the fax settings.
  6. Select the printer. If no device is selected, tap Select Device and then select the printer from the device list.
  7. Tap the fax number, manually type the fax number (or select an existing contact with a fax number), and then tap Back to return to the Preview page.
  8. Make sure the fax cable is connected to the printer.
  9. When ready to send, tap Fax.

For a Samsung CJX-1050W or Samsung CJX-2000FW Inkjet All-in-One, use the Samsung Mobile Print Photo app. Do not use the Samsung Mobile Print app.
